Beyond 12 is a national, tech-enabled nonprofit, helping institutions provide their students with the academic, social, and emotional support they need to succeed in higher education. MyCoach is Beyond 12’s student-facing mobile app experience designed to help students navigate the ins-and-outs of college, as part of a personalized, one-on-one coaching engagement.
As the Senior Director of User Experience, I designed and led the creation of multiple versions of the app that are visually compelling, user-friendly, accessible, and singularly focused on supporting the relationships already established between students and our coaches. Our approach was deeply rooted in human-centered design, leveraging user research with students and their coaches to refine the UX and build a brand identity that resonates with students and institutional partners alike.
