When Kate Spade New York wanted to create a new kind of relationship with their customers, they turned to IDEO to help them reimagine their guest service experience.

The result was a way to inspire customers to live “a more interesting life” by leveraging a pivotal Kate Spade asset—their in-store staff. Empowering team members to bring their whole selves to work and equipping them with the right tools created an environment where they could create more personal connections, leading to increased engagement.

My role was to imagine the digital products needed to facilitate this new relationship. I created multiple mobile and digital product concepts that supported connected in-store encounters—from a destination meant to keep staff up on style trends and conversation topics to a global archive where team members could share client details across locations and level up their skills.
