Breadcrumb is a recipe app built using Time Inc’s decades of food and lifestyle content including its archive of over 75,000 tested and reviewed recipes from across its publications. Combined with an adaptive algorithm and a user-created taste profile, Breadcrumb acts like “Spotify for food”, serving up tailored recipe suggestions, recommendations from celebrity chefs, user-created recipe playlists, and more.
In my role as Design Director, I created the UX concept for the app as well as the visual design direction. Digging deep into the existing taxonomy of the recipe archive to streamline the experience was a key part of imagining what this app could become.
